Amur North River Privet

The Amur North River Privet, ‘Ligustrum amurense,’ can be pruned to any height up to fifteen feet, and makes a thick, dense hedge with foliage right down to the ground. This is the ideal selection for gardeners who want a hedge with a neat clipped appearance. Its lustrous, dark green leaves are very hardy, and will remain present on the shrub until late fall. This is the most widely used deciduous hedge in America. One great trait of the North River Privet is that the more it is trimmed, the thicker it will get. To start an easy to grow hedge, plant these one foot apart.
